If Excel plots launched by Winsteps display on your screen, no action is needed.
After clicking on the Plot button in a Winsteps dialog box, Winsteps interfaces with Excel through module winexcel and Windows to produce plots. There are two options In Edit menu, Edit Initial Settings, Excel Plot:
1.32-bit - most Windows PCs with Excel installed. Excelplot32=Yes
On disk: winexcel.exe

Internally: This interface uses winexcel.exe to communicate through Windows to Excel. The Excel plot launches automatically. It is the interface in Winsteps versions before 5.2.4 June 2022.
2.64-bit - most Windows PCs with Excel installed. Excelplot32=6
On disk: winexcel64.exe
On screen: Activating Excel 64-bit interface ...
Internally: This interface uses winexcel64.exe to communicate through Windows to Excel. The Excel plot launches automatically.
3.64-bit or 32-bit - all versions of Excel. Excelplot32=No
On disk: winexcel.dat
On screen: Activating Excel.xlsm interface ...

Internally: This interfaces uses winexcel.dat to create a .xlsm Excel workbook in the Windows temporary folder %temp%.
Excel installed in Windows: This .xlsm workbook launches automatically on most Windows versions of Excel provided that Excel macros are enabled.
To enable macros: Open Excel -> Click on File -> Options - > Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings… -> Macro Settings -> Enable all macros.
All Excel installations: These may be able to launch the Excel plot by manually launching the .xlsm file with the available version of Excel. While Winsteps is open, the .xlsm file is in Windows folder %temp% (something like C:\Users\....\AppData\Local\Temp\ ). Look for the most recent .xlsm file in the %temp% folder and launch it.
Excel Worksheet Maximum Size
.xls supports 65536 rows and 256 columns while .xlsx supports 1048576 rows and 16384 columns
