Multi-User Site License Agreements

Which license do I need?
Individual-user license $US 149.00: Single-user license agreement
Personal Circle site license $US 499.00: There is no absolute number of users for a "personal circle" site license. The essential idea is that the users are all known personally by the site license administrator. For instance, the students in a class or the researchers in a Research Department. The usual maximum limit is 30 end-users.
Institutional site license $US 2,250.00: Wider dissemination of the software with no personal connection among the users. For instance, the software is made available to all the students at a University or all the employees of a large corporation. There is no limit to the number of copies allowed.

PERSONAL-CIRCLE MULTI-USER SITE LICENSE

This license is limited to the use of software, entitled (name of software), and documentation for the purposes of the license holder by that holder. This license permits the reproduction and use of the software and documentation by those in the personal-circle of the license holder.

Winsteps.com grants (name of institution)
Licensee: (name of license holder responsible for the license)
non-transferable permission to reproduce and to distribute copies of documentation and software for Winsteps.com computer program (name of software) from an original version purchased by or on behalf of the licensed holder.

This permission is identified by Winsteps.com site license number (number of license).

Note: The multiuser personal-circle site license permits the installation of the Winsteps software on many computers, but the computers must be operated by individuals personally known to the license holder and under the control of the license holder directly or indirectly. The whereabouts of the software must be known by the license holder. For instance, on the computers in a computer room by persons personally known by the computer room staff, or on the computers of the students in a class personally know to the instructor, or on the computers of the staff in a department personally known to the department head. This license does not permit installation on a corporation's or university's server with access by those outside the license holder's personal circle.
When a new version of Winsteps is released, updating of the software is coordinated by the license holder. Software support for end-users must also be provided primarily by the license holder, e.g., assistance to students experiencing difficulties with the software. Individual end-users may install their copy on more than one of their own computers.


INSTITUTIONAL MULTI-USER SITE LICENSE

This license is limited to the use of software, entitled (name of software), and documentation for the purposes of the licensed institution by that institution or others acting under its direction. This license permits the reproduction and use of unlimited multiple copies of the software and documentation.

Winsteps.com grants (name of institution)
Licensee: (name of person responsible for administering software at institution)
non-transferable permission to reproduce and to distribute multiple copies of documentation and software for Winsteps.com computer program (name of software) from an original version purchased by the institution.

This permission is identified by Winsteps.com site license number (number of license).
